Four cities. Not fourteen.
I used to list half the Bay Area. It was not honest: an hour each way eats a small job alive, and the person at the far end of the list always got the worst of me. So the area is now San Jose and the three towns next to it.
Where I work
San Jose
Toilets and faucets lead by a wide margin, then doors that will not latch, then televisions. In the older streets a single visit usually ends up covering four or five small things at once.
95110…Campbell
Shower doors, caulking, vanity swaps and cabinet alignment. Campbell calls skew towards bathrooms more than anywhere else I work.
95008…Los Gatos
Doors and hinges, built-in shelving, mirrors and heavy art, and faucets where the fitting needs thinking about before it is bought.
95030…Saratoga
Cabinet and door alignment across a whole house, shelving, exhaust fans and outdoor timber that needs refitting rather than replacing.
95070…
Just outside the line
If you are just outside — Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, Cupertino, Mountain View, Willow Glen's far edge into Almaden — ring me anyway. I will say yes if the day already has me pointed your way, and no if it does not. What I will not do is take the booking and then arrive at six in the evening having fought the 85 both ways.
Being honest about the map is the only way the price list above stays true.
In one of the four?
Then a written price is a few photos away. Outside them, call and ask — the answer will be a straight one.
